Do the 144,000 Jews Evangelize the World?
The Bible never says that the 144,000 evangelize anyone. In Revelation 7:1-8 we see them sealed just before they are raptured. Later in the same chapter they are shown in heaven after being raptured with the rest of the saints. Then, in Revelation 14:1-5 we see that the seal that they received in their foreheads is the Fathers name, and that they are actually the firstfruits of the Rapture. If youve been reading The Kingdom Of The Beast you know that these are two views of the same Rapture. By combining them we get a more complete picture of what is happening. They are first sealed in the forehead and then either raptured first by mere moments, or simply allowed to enter first into the presence of the Father after they are raptured with the rest of saints. We also see that they are pure and without fault before God. To be without fault can only mean that they are saved.
In Revelation 12 we see that they are hidden in the wilderness for 3.5 years from the face of the serpent (Satan) and from his wrath. Satans wrath is the Great Tribulation (not to be confused with Gods wrath). Remember that Jesus speaks specifically to believing Jews in the Gospels about fleeing Jerusalem to the wilderness before the Tribulation begins. Out of all that we read about the 144,000 we get a bunch of saved Jews who are being protected out of sight from being harmed by Satan or the anti-Christ. They are not sealed until the end of that time of protection, and just moments before the Rapture.
We can speculate all we want about the 144,000 based on what we know from Scripture, but speculation is a far cry from actual written Biblical revelation. For instance, we can speculate that they get saved during the last great revival when the entire earth is being evangelized. Or possibly during the first 3.5 year period after the gospel has been preached, but before the final 3.5 years of Great Tribulation. That allows them time to consider what they have heard and compare it to the Old Testament, thus making not only a heart felt decision but one that aligns with the OT. We can also suggest that they may have been saved all along and that they did indeed have a part in the last revival. Or, we can make the hypothesis that they come out of their place of protection during the Tribulation to encourage others and to lead others to salvation. After all, everyone has heard the gospel, but that does not mean that everyone has made their final decision. This paragraph is full of speculation, and that is all that the idea of the 144,000 leading an end times revival is. The only thing that we know for sure is that they are saved before the Tribulation begins because that is when the protection of these pure and faultless servants begins.
The second half of Daniel 11 speaks of the activities of the anti-Christ. The following verses speak of those Christians who are active in ministry during that time.
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
The 144,000 could be involved in the exploits and strengthening of others that is mentioned above, but these verses do not speak specifically about them because they will not taste death before Jesus comes. Likewise, when we read in the Gospels about the persecution during the Tribulation the 144,000 are not being put to death. They are being protected. That is all that we know about their daily existence during the Tribulation.
My own speculation of what their significance is, other than just being the first fruits of the Rapture, I believe that the number12,000 from each tribeis because they will be leaders in the Millennium. There are twelve patriarchs, 12 disciples of Jesus and 24 elders in heaven. Add to that the 144,000 and you have quite a management team to help Jesus run an organized system of government during the Millennial Reign. This system is similar to the division of the elders, tribes and family groups of Israel which helped to keep things organized. Just a theory, but I think its a good one.
While we are on the subject of evangelizing and revival during the end, the two witnesses do not evangelize the world either. They are operating completely outside of the bounds of the gospel when they torment the earth, kill those who seek to kill them, call plagues down on the earth and just simply make people miserable during their stay. According to scripture, they are a part of the Wrath of God. They may, however, issue warnings. For instance, Dont take the mark of the beast or you will be sorry. Everyone who has the mark will be destroyed by God. But, they do not get people saved during the Wrath. It seems that the Church has allowed its Bible scholars to stretch the truth and fabricate when it comes to prophecy. Speculation is fine, but turning fables into fact is not.
