Rod Parsley, Silent No More On Islam, But Not Shouting Loud Enough.

Rod Parsley's chapter on Islam in his book Silent No More is fair, intelligent, informative and scary but it is also overly optimistic and misguided in its’ conclusions.

Sure we need to engage and debate the Muslim world concerning everything about their religionits’ troubled roots, its’ history of violence, its’ trend towards terror, its’ fundamental beliefs that lead to all of this violence and even the validity of the Koran; but what Rod and the rest of the Church don’t seem to get is that the debate will only bring that final great revival to a segment of the Muslim world while galvanizing anger and resentment in the rest.

It is that anger and resentment that will grow to the point where Middle East Muslims, and possibly many others, will unite against Christians, Jews and the rest of the world and fulfill Biblical prophecy about ten nations aligning with the beast and against Israel and bring humanity to the brink of extinction. Or, in other words, the Great Tribulation, which Jesus said will result in the destruction of all flesh if not for God’s intervention by sending Jesus back to extract believers from the earth. By doing so, God is removing the primary enemy of Muslims and the beast. Once believers are gone God will begin to pour forth His wrath, which will begin the punishment of aggressors, but not to the point of extinction.

The reason that people, and particularly Christians don’t know this is because the Church labors under some of the same type of deception that Muslims do. Christianity has had periods, often very long periods of deception, violence and silence in the face of Christian atrocities and delusion. Yes, Christians are often guilty of the crime of silence when they should be speaking out against evil.

But let’s talk about Christian deception. Forget about the Crusades when Christians went to war against Arabs. Muslims like to recall how Christian nations rolled into the Arab world and conquered many of their homelands and killed their people, while Christians feel the Crusades were in large part a response to Muslim conquests that captured Israel and either killed or enslaved many Christians in the Arab world. Let’s not forget that Israel and the Arab world are where Christianity began. After all, Abraham was an Arab before he was a Jew, and the Church was Jewish before it was Christian. Christian nations were simply reversing the violent advance of Islam. Perhaps we can say that both were at fault.

However, that violent advance continues and will continue right up to the very end, but the Church fails to see the significance of this because of the two thousand year deception that has blinded it from the truth.

That deception is seated primarily in the idea that since Rome is built on seven hills it must be concluded that Rome is being singled out in Revelation 17, where seven mountains with seven kings are mentioned, to be the final destroying empire. Nothing could be further from the truth. Constantinople (modern day Istanbul) was the capitol of Middle Eastern Rome for hundreds of years and it is built on seven hills just like Rome, which in fact, gets us closer to the true center of what the seven mountains represent.

The seven mountains are seven kingdoms of great stature. Babylon was called a great destroying mountain by God in Jeremiah 51:25 as He declared that He would judge it like He did Syria before it. Rome was the sixth mountain and is passed on into the annals of time like the five that “have fallen” before it. Greece and Persia were two of the mountains that preceded Rome. We see the spiritual “kings” of Greece and Persia battling with the angel Michael in Daniel 12. That leaves the first mountain/nation, Egypt, and the last mountain/empire which the beast will rule over.

All of these kingdoms were grand, exercised great authority and persecuted Israel while at their zeneth. The same will be true of the beast kingdom. It will span the Middle East and into North Africa. It will have a grand port city called Babylon which will be a choice destination for merchant ships and perhaps tourism. And it will eventually overrun Israel.

That brings us to another part of the great deception of the Church. Or, perhaps it’s more of a blindness or a willful disregard for things that are too scary to contemplate. Whatever the case, the Church fails to fully recognize what is happening right under their noses at the heart of Islam.

Muslims have their own set of beliefs concerning the final outcome of the world and how we will get from where we are now to that day of Islamic world dominating infidel free bliss.

They have end times prophetic scriptures just like the Church and they have edicts issued by their Islamic holy men that direct them concerning the future.

What Christians need to realize is that Muslim prophecies parallel Christian prophecies but with a totally different outcome. Their prophecies end with Muslims controlling the world, but rather than Allah doing all the work he has left it up to them to conquer. They are the ones who are going to follow the beast. The falling away has already taken place in the “holy land,” and now Christianity is a more or less forbidden religion in lands where the Apostle Paul once traveled and preached the gospel.

When the anti-Christ does take charge of the ten nations he will eventually force an absolute death sentence on Christians in that area of the world first and then beyond. He will not rule the world but will be very much in control over what is happening around the world as the leader of the final jihad. Make no mistake about it, that is what the real debate is all about. It is reaching into the hearts and minds of Muslims and convincing them by the Word of God, the Love of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit that there is a better way, and that there is a truth that is real truth and not just a doctrine of hate crimes and jihad that has been evolving to a crescendo from the days of Muhammad to the day of the beast.

This is what Rod Parsley and the entire Church need to be shouting at the top of their lungs, but the Church needs to get past its’ own deceptions before it can Accurately deal with that of others.
