The Antichrist Kingdom In Scripture
Mountain 7
{Map at bottom of page}

It takes quite a bit of scripture to explain why the antichrist kingdom will look like the map below. We will start off by looking at a few scriptures from Ezekiel 38 and the battle of Gog. The overwhelming defeat of Gog by God is an end time event that happens before anything else and will be a sign that the end times are upon us. It is not a part of theTribulation or the Wrath of God. That will be explained as we go along. What we want to look at is the list of participants in this failed attack against Israel because it includes many if not all of the nations that will make up the final ten nation End Times Empire of the Beast. The fact that the antichrist empire is made up of just ten nations is the second thing that will be established. The empire of the beast is not a world government but a group of ten nations that come together at the end time as a single empire that causes much destruction and havoc and tribulation for the entire world. To wrap things up we will look at Daniel 11 to see who these nations are and determine some of the antichrist's end time activities. Let's begin by reading the beginning of Ezekiel 38.

(Ezekiel 38:1-23, KJV)

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

The following is a modern day look at the nations mentioned by Ezekiel that will join together to attack Israel in a failed latter day attempt to overrun Israel. There doesn't seem to be any firm proof but most scholars believe that Gog in the land of Magog mentioned in Ezekiel 38 and 39, is speaking of Russia or the Soviet Union. This very well may be true since the children of Japheth, the son of Noah settled to the north of Eden going into Turkey and southern Europe. The families that settled southern Europe are not mentioned here but the ones who settled Turkey are named {Magog, Meshech, Tubal and Gomer} and would be the ones that eventually continued to migrate due north into the Soviet Union. If, however, Gog is not the Soviet Union it must certainly be Turkey since Gog is called the chief prince of the different provinces of Turkey. God calls Gog the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Meshech and Tubal, Gomer and Togarmah are all past locations in Turkey. Persia does not exist as a nation today but the land mass that it used to occupy is currently occupied by Iran, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and parts of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey. Iran is the one nation that is directly descendant from Persia. Ethiopia and Libya both covered a greater portion of the African continent in the past; therefore the naming of them in Ezekiel could mean that there will be other African nations that will join them but not necessarily. Looking at the world today and comparing ancient maps to modern ones one might suspect that Sudan could have been included as a part of Egypt or Ethiopia and Algeria could have been included as a part of Libya.

Verses 15 and 16 below point out that the battle of Gog will be in the latter days, however the battle or attempted attack will happen before the tribulation and before the antichrist is revealed. The reason is that God takes away all restraints during the tribulation and allows the antichrist to kill and persecute Jews and Christians and to wage wars at will even against Israel. At the battle of Gog however, God, one last time steps in to intervene on the behalf of Israel. After God defeats Gog in the mountains of Israel many if not all of the same nations will join together in a second alliance of ten nations from which the antichrist will rise up out of and take control of. This is explained more fully in the book.

Ezekiel 38:15,16

15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

God does not interfere in the affairs of the antichrist or intervene in earthly matters once the tribulation has begun except to protect His 144,000 redeemed Jewish saints and other saints that are putting their trust in Him for deliverance at this time. Therefore the latter day destruction of Gog could not be a part of the 7 year time of the antichrist. God's next big intervention after the defeat of Gog will be the rapture of the Church followed by God's wrath on the disobedient. This is all discussed through out the book and it would take to much time to lay it all out again on this page. Suffice it to say that he that is restrained in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 is no longer restrained during the tribulation. He that is given power, and his seat, and great authority from Satan in Revelation 13:2 is the same that is making war against the saints, and prevailing against them in verse 21 of Daniel below. And in Luke 21:20 it says that when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. In context Luke 21:20 is referring to the end times tribulation only. Jerusalem has been surrounded by armies many times in the past and it is going to happen again when the antichrist launches his end times offensive against Israel. Before that happens Gog will prepare to conquer Israel but God intervenes to protect Israel in the latter days before the tribulation. Everywhere else in end times prophecies God is allowing Satan and his antichrist a time of terror and destruction until the return of Christ. After Christ's return God turns the tables on the antichrist and gives him and those who reject God a taste of tribulation through wrath.

Below, Daniel describes the dream that God gave him concerning four kingdoms that arise on the earth. The first three are described as a lion, a bear and a leopard which symbolize Babylon, Persia and Greece respectively. The forth is a dreadful creature that represents the antichrist and his end time kingdom.

(Daniel 7:1-14, KJV)

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

The lion perfectly describes Babylon particularly with Nebuchadnezzar at the helm. Nebuchadnezzar was the gold head on the great figure in Daniel chapter 2. However in chapter 3 he was given the heart of a beast and made to eat grass like an oxen for seven years and his hair grew to be like eagles feathers. Afterwards he was lifted back up and given a mans heart again and returned to his former glory after giving glory to God.

5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

The bear is the Persian empire after it has fought and then united with the Medes under Cyrus the Persian. They went on to defeat the combined army of Babylon, Egypt and Lydia [Turkey]. These are the three ribs in the mouth of the bear as it began to conquer.

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

The leopard is the Grecian empire led by Alexander the great. This beast symbolizes the swiftness of Alexander's conquests. The four heads are the four generals that divided the kingdom after Alexander's youthful demise.

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Verses 7 and 8 mention 10 horns which are ten kings and their nations. Revelation 13 and 17 makes this clear as we will see below. Verses 9 and 10 give us a glimpse of heaven as the time for judgment nears. Verse 11 shows the anti-Christ destroyed in his pride at the end and thrown into the lake of fire.

11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Verses 13 and 14 show Jesus receiving from God what is rightfully His.

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

In Revelation 13 John describes the same fourth beast that Daniel described but he compared it to the lion, the bear and the leopard of the first three beasts. All were Middle Eastern or Mediterranean empires and the ten horns which are ten kings of the end times will be Middle East and/or Mediterranean kings that will give their countries over to the antichrist in the end. The seven heads of the beast are explained in the book. The ten horns are what we are looking at here.

(Revelation 13:1-7, KJV)

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

As you read the following verses from Revelation 17 notice that the end time kingdom is made up of ten nations that give their power to the anti-Christ as their leader. Notice that it says that these ten kings and their nations will make war with the lamb. This is talking about and the main group that will join with the antichrist to fight against the lamb of God in the battle of Armageddon. It also refers to the time of tribulation when the antichrist indirectly battles with the Lamb when he targets God's Saints and the nation of Israel for destruction.

(Revelation 17:11-14, KJV)

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Most people today are looking for a one world government and there are certainly many forces at work trying to bring this to pass. Many Christians point to these very verses to support this idea, however, as you read, notice that when it speaks about the beast that makes war against the lamb, the beast is not reigning but stamping, braking and devouring. This suggests that he will draw the world into a world war type of conflict. Just as Nazi Germany was the base from which Hitler launched his destruction, so will the ten nation Middle East empire of the beast that the Bible repeatedly mentions be a base of destruction for the anti-Christ. Hitler never controlled the world but he certainly did control what was happening on the whole face of the earth for many years. Any nation that clings to righteousness will be a primary target for the anti-Christ. There are scriptures that suggest that there will be good nations and then those that God will judge even beyond just the time of God's wrath. Jesus said in Matthew 24: that no flesh would be saved if the time was not shortened. Knowing the types of nuclear, chemical and biological warfare that some of the Middle East and other aggressor nations are capable of, it is easy to see how all of mankind could be wiped out in a very short time frame. The time that all this is taking place is the great tribulation and will be followed by the rapture and then the wrath of God. There will be possibly several billion people left behind on the earth after the rapture to experience God's wrath.

(Daniel 7:15-27, KJV)

15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

The other which came up, and before whom three fell is the Anti-Christ. Notice that in the next verse he prevails against the saints until the rapture.

21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

In verse 25 a time is one year so 1 time plus 2 times plus a half time is 3 1/2 years or forty two months as in Rev. 13:5 just ahead.

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

The goat of the eighth chapter of Daniel is Alexander the Great and the four horns that came up after him are his four generals that divided his kingdom. The little horn that came up from one of the four horns, to some degree describes Antiochus Epiphanes which was an Old Testament type of the antichrist which lived towards the end of the Syrian branch of the divided kingdom of Alexander. He never did fulfill all of the prophecies which still await the end time antichrist.

(Daniel 8:8-25, KJV)

8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.

19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

Verse 20 mentioned the Medo-Persian Empire. Verse 21 is Alexander the Great of the Greek Empire. Verse 22 mentions the four kingdoms that arose from the Greek Empire. Verses 23-25 may be loosely applied to Antiochus Epiphanes but they are speaking specifically of the end time antichrist. If the end time antichrist arises out of the latter day version of the the Greek Empire, or at least the Syrian portion where Antiochus Epiphanes ruled in the past then that tells us where the final end time ten nation empire will be located. Since these verses cannot be specifically applied to Antiochus or any other past personality and since verse 17 says that it is for the time of the end, then we know that some version of this Syrian portion of the Greek Empire will arise in the future.

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

The reason we looked at all of the above verses is because they point us to Daniel 11. Daniel 11 foretells of the Seleucids who ruled from Syria and the Ptolemies who ruled from Egypt which were two of the four kingdoms that arose from the Greek Empire. These two kingdoms fought back and forth for years and it was all prophesied in Daniel 11. The thing is that the fulfillment of these prophecies just kind of ends abruptly before we run out of prophesy. Antiochus as a type of the antichrist was one of the final rulers of the Syrian division of the Greek Empire. To some degree he fits some of the prophesy of Daniel 11 as you near the end of the chapter but it will take the end time antichrist to fully complete the prophesy. We are not going to look at the first half of the chapter which goes into detail on the back and forth fighting between these two kingdoms. There are volumes of books written on the subject and it would be a waste of time to go in to it here. We'll pick up at verse 27 where a transition is being made between the antichrist of old and the end time antichrist. There is also good instruction to those of the end times to help them to understand what they need to be about as the time of the antichrist is upon us.

(Daniel 11:27-45, KJV)

27 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.

30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.

31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

In the next verse it says at the time of the end. We are looking at some of the activity of the end time antichrist in these verses. If we look at the territory that the old Syrian spin off of the Greek Empire covered in the past and apply it to today it gives us a general idea of the future beast kingdom. The old rivalry is once again ignited and verse 42 says that Egypt will not escape. The antichrist will overthrow that country and verse 43 says the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. Verse 41 says that Israel and many countries will be overthrown. It also says that Edom, Moab, and the chief children of Ammon will escape which is interesting because they are right in the middle of everything.

40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The last two verses in this chapter tell of the final actions of the antichrist during the time of great tribulation. Tidings out of the east would point to the Mediterranean which is not big on tidings so you have to go beyond that to Europe or the Americas to get tidings that would upset the antichrist. To the north we could be talking about Europe again but due north of Israel where the antichrist has set up his palace is Turkey and then above that is Russia . These are all places that could cause the antichrist great fury if they make a move to stop him.

After establishing the fact that the beast empire consists of ten nations that give their power over to the beast and then establishing the general area, and some of the nations that are a part of the end time empire we can go back to Ezekiel 38 and see that there is little if any difference between the beast alliance and the Gog alliance. After Gog is supernaturally defeated by God in the wilderness the Bible says that the children of Israel will spoil those who attempted to spoil them. For seven years they will use the weapons as fuel, not to mention using the fuel for fuel also. God uses this event that was meant to be the death of Israel to make provision for His 144,000 chosen Israelite children during the 3 1/2 year tribulation that will follow. God may even be giving us the location where His elect will be hidden during the tribulation when He mentions Edom, Moab and Ammon escaping the hand of the antichrist but no matter how loud you shout the location from the roof tops they will still be safe from the antichrist because God has ordained it. If He has to blind, repel, resist, destroy, whatever it takes God will protect His chosen in the place that He has prepared for them.

(Ezekiel 39:9-10, KJV)

9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:

10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.

You'll notice below, that the nations in red are the nations that are named in the Bible as being a part of the Gog alliance. They include Turkey, the old Persian Empire, Libya and Ethiopia. The Greek Empire that Daniel spoke of in Daniel 8 is a near replica of the Persian Empire It will be revived in the end to fulfill the prophecies of the Beast Empire. Both empires covered most of the Middle East without actually going down into the Arabian Peninsula, which is Saudi Arabia. Both dipped down into the Nile basin of Egypt. The nations in pink may be a part of the Beast Empire but it is not as certain. If Russia is Gog that doesn't mean that it will remain allied with the Beast after their thwarted attack on Israel, but it could. Daniel 11:42 says that Egypt will not escape the final kingdom of the Beast, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will start out as one of the 10 nations of the beast. Sudan and Somalia were in the land mass that was referred to as Ethiopia, and Algeria was a part of Libya, so any of the North African nations could be a part of the Beast Empire. Israel will be overrun by the Beast towards the middle of the 7 year period. Incidentally, it is a matter of fact that Saddam Hussein’s vision for an Islamic Empire looks just like the red and pink of this map but includes more of North Africa and excludes Russia.
